And finally the day came after 3 weeks of waiting with anxiety and excitement. It started raining and I boarded a city bus to reach bus station. I enjoyed every moment of travelling in city bus in rain (as I got a window seatJ). Looking through the window i found a cute couple riding on a bike partially under rain coat, the girl is feeding nuts to her partner, How romantic of her huh.. I got down the bus at MGBS.
In an hour the complete team of 12 gathered. All my friends think it is crazy as i dont know where i am heading, We randomly selected a location out of 24 and only our organizer knows what the destination is. Here are some rules we have to follow through the trek
1. Must not ask anybody where we get down the bus (driver or conductor, etc.)
2. Don’t use GPS to track where we are.
After searching for availability of buses and tickets, we boarded a bus to Kadapa. So now we know that our destination is in Kadapa district (at least but not sure). After bus seat time (bed time) stories till 3 AM, everybody slept with same excitement, anxiety and confusion with a pinch of doubt. Got down bus at 5:45AM in ChagalaMarri village which is around 60Kms from Kadapa. Waited there till 6:40 to catch another bus to reach Jammalamadugu. We had veg biryani (part I) at 7AM before boarding the bus and it was so delicious. We reached the town Jammalamadugu and had our breakfast (part II). Some people ask us where we are going. We can’t just tell them that we don’t know where we are going. So most time we tried avoiding conversations with them. Packed fruits and biscuits for lunch and started in an auto (still don’t know). After a 20 minute journey, finally our excitement ended, confusion cleared and we are at Gandikota fort.
We started exploring, climbing walls, walked, scrambled, boulder, hiked with lots of energy and in the meantime our organiser placed a challenge to eat 3 Marie gold biscuits in the afternoon when everyone is dried up. Everyone is very confident that we can do it (of course I’m one of them) but none did it. In the evening everybody had snack and started back to Jammalamadugu. Watched a movie “Prema Katha Chitram” (3rd time for me) almost everyone liked it. After movie we came to know that bus tickets are not available as it is Sunday (weekend). We hired a Tata sumo to reach Kurnool and boarded bus from there to Hyd by morning 6AM reached happy homes J
The most memorable trip of my life as it is not destination specific, but journey oriented.
